2. Gentle cleaning: Use a soft cloth dampened with water. Use minimal moisture when cleaning, and ensure the surface is dried promptly after cleaning.

You want a smooth primed surface:

• All cracks, including the one just above the floor (unless base or trim is going on) and all screw holes must be filled and sanded. 

• There cannot be ridges from taping etc. Otherwise these will show through in the burnishing stage

• Project area must be thoroughly paint primed, including cut in. This is essential for even moisture absorption.

• Venetian plaster has a very high ecologic value due to its natural raw materials composition.

• The dispersion of humidity or breathability of Venetian plaster avoids the growth of mold and bacteria without using chemical additives.

• Venetian plaster is non-flammable and low odor. This is because neither lime nor marble dust easily ignite or support combustion. The absence of VOCs further reduces the risk of flammability.

• On the pH Scale, battery acid is a 1, milk is neutral, close to a 7, and Venetian plaster is around a 13. The alkalinity of the plaster creates an inhospitable environment for the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. The high alkalinity also enhances resistance to staining and its properties contribute to the  curing process, strength and durability.
